Housing For Our Veterans And Their Families

 Our organization provides essential home repairs on the houses of veterans and necessary ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) modifications for disabled veterans. These additions are available to all veterans that received a discharge in good standing, their direct family, or active military members. We believe that all veterans deserve to have their essential needs met for their service to this country. Significant repairs and additions can require expertise, finances, and manual labor that is not available to all individuals.  

These repairs can include disaster damage repair, updating dangerous outdated stairs or walls, or any repairs that can be categorized as essential. ADA improvements will be for any disabled veteran that requires any updates to their home to improve their everyday life. This can include widening doorways, adding support bars or railings, constructing wheelchair ramps, or modifying equipment and cabinetry to allow easy access. 

Veterans Serving Veterans Organization is currently able to provide temporary housing for homeless veterans or veterans at risk of homelessness. Our organization has established available housing options and can provide resources and counseling to prepare veterans to return to independent permanent housing. All incoming participants will be provided with a plan on regaining finances, securing employment, applying for VA benefits, and individual counseling if needed. Once it is determined that veterans are able to return to permanent housing, assistance will be provided on finding affordable housing and furniture can be provided if needed. 

Our organization is currently working towards establishing and constructing a temporary housing facility that will provide individual rooms, amenities, and counseling for individuals and families. This facility will allow 20 individuals and 10 families to live in a safe environment, free of charge. This location will also allow for consistent behavioral health programing from trained professionals. Our organization will utilize this location to not only improve the behavioral health of the current residents but will also involve the local community with open support groups and sponsors.

Our organization works with local senior living, assisted living, and community donations to provide furniture for veterans in need. This can be veterans moving into permanent housing or veterans that need updated furniture in their current home. Our organization works to receive a wide selection of different furniture for all different situations. Our organization will provide a full list of our current inventory or veterans in need can contact us regarding the furniture we currently have.  

Veterans Serving Veterans Organization is able to provide Lawn Care Services to all disabled or elderly veterans that are unable to complete this on their own. This can be regular grass cutting, edging, and leaf blowing, or can be larger essential jobs such as establishing proper drainage or cutting down unsafe trees. Our organization looks to do this with our group of staff and volunteers, with the ability to complete these jobs on a consistent basis for those in need.
